The project endeavours to respond to the objective set by the SVC – 4th call: process the heterogeneity of student profiles upon arrival at the HES by offering an e-learning course to students registered in the HES educational channels and starting their training.
Learning and working at UAS request from students adapted learning competences mainly organized in four fields:
- Concrete experimentation
- Collaborative working and learning
- Concrete and applicable developments devised with a strong sense of innovation
- Professional writing and editing
Students attending UAS institutions present different profiles, levels and previous learning experience.
Profiles are increasingly more heterogeneous in age, diploma prior to UAS, professional experience, basic knowledge acquisition, writing abilities and computing competences.
Students' learning methods are often not fully adapted to the UAS requirements in term of self organization, peer collaboration, writing or improvement of their own learning strategies, methods or tools.
The project “Learning at UAS-Working Methods (LWM)” aims at developing a distance course attended by the students before starting their first year of studies, or at the latest until the 31st December of the current academic year.
Supported by strong and active tutors, this course will be based on interactivity, collaboration between learners, and through concrete advice related to learning in general, will be presented in a sophisticated multimedia format, and in terms of recommendations about the material offered in the various educational channels of the HES-SO-S2.
